In Australia, Queensland is the second biggest state and/or territory consumer of energy. The transport sector had the highest consumption of energy in 2018–19. Considering that Queensland has a large road operations intelligent transport system (ITS) infrastructure asset base, it is important to proactively explore the energy saving options. This was the aim of this project.
