Since the 2010 publication of MRTS35 Recycled Materials for Pavements, the use of recycled materials in Queensland for unbound granular and stabilised pavements has been relatively limited. There are a number of various reasons for this, of which include: the perceived inferiority of recycled materials to that of virgin materials, and, the barriers in material procurement associated with recycled and natural/quarried materials being specified separately.
