Primarily there are two types of glass beads used for pavement marking on the state road network, Type D-HR and Type B-HR. When Type D-HR beads are compared to Type B-HR beads, it is believed that the Type D-HR beads have higher retro-reflective properties during wet nights, which should provide a higher level of linemarking delineation to drivers during wet weather.
